Life struggle

The end of one journey is always the beginning of another.

Change is painful and always comes with a cost.

It hurts to bare those cost, but we can't allow that to sway us.

Tomorrow is a mystery but the only thing we can do is to face it with resolve.

We move forward and always forward into whats next.

We make a choice and act upon that choice.

And all that is left is to live and hope.

I wish you enough

“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hello’s to get you through the final good-bye.”

Easy Cooked Dog Food

Now in effort for me to save anything I believe will benefit when I do go Tiny. I am going to be borrowing (storing recipes) here.

Here is something I am particular interested for my dog when I transition.

This is brought to me by Homemade Dog Food Blog.

Easy Cooked Dog Food Recipe

Dog food recipe that is designed to be simple to make and healthy for your dog.
Easy cooked dog food recipe ingredients
NOTE: In an effort to simplify the dog food recipe I have incorporated the use of supplements. Without the supplements the dog food recipe would need an additional 10 to 20 ingredients. Unfortunately, our current agricultural practices yield foods with a fraction of the nutrient content of wild counterparts.
That said; this dog food recipe is deficient without the two supplements that are essential to the recipe: Dinovite supplement and LickOchops omega fatty acid supplement. Feeding this recipe without the supplements will result in multiple nutritional deficiency diseases.

Dog supplements needed for this dog food recipe.

  • Click here to view Dinovite dog supplement. Feed 1 tablespoon of Dinovite with each cup of dog food.
  • Click here to view Lickochops omega fatty acid dog supplement.
  • It is important to add these supplements to this dog food recipe. Adding the supplements will prevent it from being nutrient deficient.

Easy Cooked Dog Food Recipe Ingredients:

  • 10 lbs. of raw ground beef
  • 18 eggs including the shells (the egg shells supply digestible calcium to your dog. Yes, studies have proved that the calcium in egg shell is highly absorbable.)
  • 5 cups uncooked white rice (The rice will need to be thoroughly cooked before making this recipe. I believe the five cups will yield approximately 15 cups cooked rice. Use white rice not brown because it is more easily digested by your dog.)
  • 1 tube of LickOchops omega fatty acid supplement (This supplies important omega 3 & 6 fatty acids in a 1 to 4 ratio, this is good! It also contains natural source vitamin E.) Click here for this supplement.
  • Dinovite dog supplement (This supplies a host of vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes, zinc and live direct fed microbials. Dinovite also has a nutritious plant component in the “Alfalfa Nutrient Concentrate” that replicates the partially digested plant matter of herbivores.  All great stuff!) Click here for this supplement. I use 1 tablespoon of Dinovite per cup of dog food. In the video I show the Dinovite Liquid but now I use the powder because Dinovite has discontinued production of the “Dinovite liquid” in the single serve packets.

Easy Cooked Dog Food Recipe Yield:

Approximately 40 cups of dog food.
This  dog food recipe can be halved or doubled to accommodate the size of your dog or for multi-dog households. Do not feed this dog food recipe without the Dinovite and LickOchops dog supplements as it will cause this dog food recipe to be deficient.

Storing your Easy Cooked Dog Food:

Place 2-3 days worth of the dog food recipe in zip lock bags or plastic freezer containers. Store them in your freezer.
I personally prefer the freezer containers because they are easy to fill, thaw and serve. There is never any mess. I take one out and let it thaw on my counter. Feed my dogs and store the unused portion in my refrigerator. When it’s empty I wash it and it is ready for the next batch. Mix up some more of the easy cooked dog food recipe and I’m ready to go. It works well.
NOTE: Remember you are handling raw meat so use common sense when making this dog food recipe. Use the same precautions you would use when handling raw meat for your family.

Serving Size  “Easy  Cooked Dog Food Recipe”:

*Special note: These are general guidelines, we are not trying to land a man on Mars. If your dog is losing a little weight and this is not desired, increase the amount you are feeding. If your dog is gaining weight on the serving size then cut back a little. In short, adjust the serving size depending on your dog’s age, weight and activity level.
  • 10 lb. dog – 1/2 cup cooked dog food daily + 1/2 tsp Lickochops + 1/2 tbs Dinovite
  • 20 lb. dog – 1 cup cooked dog food daily + 1 tsp Lickochops + 1 tbs Dinovite
  • 40 lb. dog – 2 cups cooked dog food daily + 2 tsp Lickochops + 2 tbs Dinovite
  • 60 lb. dog – 3 cups cooked dog food daily + 3 tsp Lickochops + 3 tbs Dinovite
  • 80 lb. dog – 3 1/2–4 cups cooked dog food daily +3 1/2 tsp Lickochops + 3 1/2 tbs Dinovite
*Special Note: If you add the supplements to the whole batch when making the dog food recipe it is not necessary to add them with each serving. Use whichever method you find easier.

Introducing this new”Easy Cooked Dog Food”:

  • Fast your dog for 24 hours before starting this diet. Water should be available to your dog during the fast. This will give time for the old dog food to pass through your dog’s digestive tract. It is important to follow this procedure to limit digestive upset. This is an important step, ignoring this step greatly increases your dog’s chance of having digestive upset.
  • Day one and two: Feed a portion 1/2 the size of a normal meal.
  • Day three and four: Feed a portion 3/4 the size of a normal meal.
  • Day five: Feed a full portion.
  • Special Note: The whole process takes 6 days when you include the 24 hour fast. This method will allow your dog’s digestive tract time to adapt to the new food.

Please follow this introductory method, your dog will be fine. Your dog will not starve or hate you. Rapid diet changes can cause vomiting and diarrhea. A horrendous mess all over your house!
***Important Note: Do not mix kibble and the “Easy Cooked Dog Food” together! Doing so will GREATLY increase the chances of digestive upset for your dog!

Lisa Tiny House

Today I had the please to visit Lisa Tiny House in Orange County.

Right away you can see that this house is so cute and you feel very welcome.

As you walk in and look to the left you see the living area. The loft at the top with access via a ladder. A couch that is also a pullout bed. And two closet spaces on either side. This space alone has 6 windows so plenty of light to shine right in.

As you look to the right the kitchen is beautifully engaging you. The baking and cooking area has plenty of space for a baker like myself.

In front of the stove is the other side of the kitchen which has a very large sink and a window to lookout from. Plenty of more storage.

The refrigerator is raised with storage on top and bottom and it gives the feeling that there is an actual regular size refrigerator. Above there is a microwave for convenience.

A great little coffee book.

The restroom is to the right of the kitchen and it's beautifully set for comfort.

North Carolina has started.

Here is some good news coming from North Carolina. With a name so close to my own, I am bound to like it.

A City Council has approved to building what they are calling "accessory house". Clearly to us is a tiny house. They are saying anything under 800 square feet will fall into this category.

Though this is not solely into a blank land, it is now ok to place it in your backyard which is what most do anyways. I see the next step being a community of Tiny Houses since more people will be able to live affordably.

To read more on this story please click HERE.

Dream a little

While there seems to be a bigger interest from a lot of people lately building a Tiny House, how to make that a reality is actually something of a mystery.

While the main component for me living in a tiny house is the living without a mortgage thing. First and foremost I need to get one built. The cost of building one can either go two ways.

Either I build one (which is not likely) or I get someone to build it (as in a builder). The list for builders seems to increase each passing day. The more I research about this the more builders I am finding along the way. There are two who are standing out for me at this moment.

The first builder I really like is a guy by the name of Chris. He has several pictures that on his site that I dream of being mine every time I see it.

Eventually I will post once I get my TH dream coming true. I do believe that it will occur, I just have to try to figure out how first.

Encounters

Yesterday while out and about I had picked up several people, nothing out of the ordinary since this is what I do on a normal day anyways. It is not uncommon here in LA to actually run into someone famous, though I have yet to run into anyone I actually know or recognize.

Yesterday was really a different day. I had a good feeling and its always good to have that in a day. I had decided to start my day later in the day and not do the early AM commute (and by early I mean start at 430ish).

One of the first notable people I picked up first was an older gentleman whom stated was a writer in his days. I could actually tell that he was not just one of those people who said they were someone but actually really was a credible person. I never know anyone last name, due to the whole privacy thing, but he did give me his blog address (Just Thinking). After reading a few of this entries, I now realize that this guy really knows his stuff and is really what I'd like to call "Hollywood". He truly lives the life, or lived since I technically do not know him personally.

It was a very short trip and all I got from him was his site and a little hello there. Which pretty much sums up most of my trips. I continue my day and get a the normal Jane and Joe's who are like me, or at least I think so. A little later in the day I pick up my other interesting passenger.

I pull up by this tall building in Santa Monica and this little old lady comes in. Being that she shares my mother's name I knew I was going to enjoy this ride. Her name was Terry and when she spoke I could feel her energy as if she was very young and vibrant. She made several calls in my car and spoke to people about trips and things I only dream of. She told me she has been an actress since she was 10 and was famous in the 40s and 50s. Though I did not recognize her, she did tell me she still active in the film industry as an actress. After I dropped her off to have lunch with her friends before she went on to a comedy class, I looked her up. Her name was Terry Moore.

After meeting two amazing people during my day. I realized that though I do not live a very famous or interesting life. I want to start to write more than I am now. I see that Earl writes and post what appears to daily. I need to be more proactive.

I just want to thank them for something they don't even know happen. Give me strength in more ways than I can explain (or wish to share).

Ambitious

Maybe my goals are a little to high for this vast Los Angeles city. Or maybe its just that I have yet to find the right people to share my thoughts and ideas who would help me get my thoughts into action.

The more I drive the more I see homeless people. Today I saw a very nice size building totally empty.  My first thought was "wow, this would be a great place to make micro apartments to be affordable housing". Again just a thought. I would love to be able to make this thought a reality.

At this time, I have no idea how to get in contact with anyone who would be able to help me (or the city per say) get this lovely idea of affordable housing here or to even make it a reality. There are many many buildings that I would love see being converted into micro apartments and be a more affordable way of living in this city.

I believe this would be a win win on every side. One, the investor would get a lot of people who are interested in living affordably therefore the need to fill every apartment in the building would be fulfilled quiet rapidly. Two, all the people who wish to have a little place of their own will gladly move into a place that is affordable and reasonable.

My other idea would be of course back to the Tiny House Community. This again will be achieve when there enough people who will be able to place their tiny house into a vacant lot, preferably with a lot of trees (this is my preference, but I'm not sure its oppose by others)

Well, I have not been posting like I want (daily), I do have to find a way to make this a habit. I'll gladly hear any suggestions on how I can make this happen. The habit of writing.

Dark before its Light?

The past few months has been dark. It seems... well no, things were going south and south.. honestly I don't even know how to go about it.

I have read many quotes in so many different words but basically they all say the same thing...

Things get bad before they get better.

Lately I have personally been going through so much... and it seems that no one really knows and honestly I don't really want them to because then comes the "oh my gosh, what is going on"... which mostly turns into gossip.. I'm not really in the mood to talk about anything to anyone..

So what is one to do? Well, I have found a very good thing to put my mind into... Tiny House.

Now so much comes to my mind and it starts to run wild, such as: houses for homeless (to start) and how to get single parents into a more affordable place. And of course makes me want a tiny more than anything.

I have lately been reading about it and the more I read and look at pictures this is what I really want.

Problem numero 1: Where do I park this?
Problem numero 2: How do I afford one?

and the list goes on..

So, even though I am going through so many things and have so much stress that I start to lose count. Darkness will eventually turn into light.

Life is a journey (BP)

Life is truly a journey that you cannot predict. It has taken me on a path that I could not see coming.

I constantly wonder how can someone be in such a HUGE (I know because I drive it daily) city and yet feel extremely lonely. Nothing is as it was before. Things has changed drastically and I'm here just .... i don't know ...

Most of the time, I am constantly missing people. Some whom I cannot on my own free will call .. and am scared of various things, which is probably because of all the things I see while out driving.

I heard of a 100daysofawesome today and so I decided, I'm going to try to blog for 100 days..

I think or plan on posting something positive and sometimes (or probably mostly) my feelings and ideas and thoughts. And sometimes randomly I will post recipes I plan on saving for a later day to make.
